What I find so wonderful! Carolyn found something that she so enjoys, and is able to share that joy and enthusiasm with others, both here and abroad!
I made a confession to Carolyn the first time I hosted her here for a seminar. My business partner was the one who wanted to try Freestyle. I thought it was fun to watch, but could never IMAGINE doing it myself. Me, with two left feet, no rhythm at ALL, very self conscious and a silly little PWD who doesn't have any self control whatsoever. I was NOT going to be doing this, unh uh! By the end of our first weekend with Carolyn I was hooked! I don't know that I will ever compete in Freestyle. I may. But it doesn't matter. I so enjoy the grin (yes, GRIN) on Havoc's face when we are moving to music together, that is all we need. This is my agility and obedience dog, but I have never seen him like he is for freestyle in these other sports. He doesn't care that I have two left feet, he adores doing this with me.
Not only am I looking forward to seeing Carolyn with my little Havoc for the fourth time next month, I am brining another dog to start working as well!
Carolyn has me "hooked" on this whole thing, no doubt!

I have a Schnoodle, Colby, who is 3 yrs old and very "attitudinal" and friendly. I was one of the auditors at Carolyn Scott's seminar in Huntsville last weekend. I thought I would add to their raves from the auditor's point of view.
Colby doesn't crate well and I knew a full weekend of training would be tiring and stressful for him. Carol had been to one of Carolyn's seminars and assured me that the auditors are just as involved as the dog-handler teams, so I signed up for an auditor slot. If you're considering attending a seminar but don't think you're dog is up to it, by all means audit. It was all about teaching us to move and building confidence and it didn't necessarily require having a dog with you. Many exercises were done without the dogs, and even when they did have the dogs on the floor, the auditors were invited to participate right alongside the handlers. We choreographed a short piece near the end of the seminar and performed with our dogs. I borrowed Petey the demo dog (he's a Beanie Baby-type toy dog) for my routine. I couldn't wait to get home and try out my first attempt at choreography with my real dog. It really was a great seminar! Carolyn inspires you and makes you feel like you really can do it. We've only been practicing Freestyle for a few months and I didn't think we knew enough yet to try to put together a routine. Now I know we're ready.....if only I could decide on some music!
Linda, Huntsville, IL
We just completed a two day Carolyn Scott seminar! Whew! My head is still whirling (and the rest of me too)! And my arms and legs are like jelly! I learned more at this seminar than any other! And had more fun too! Learned a lot about my own dogs! And learned a ton about myself! I knew I loved music but had just never incorporated my body into it! Finally, I can! I knew I loved music for a reason other than me just listening to it! Got to get that body movin'!
Anyway, me and my pups had an outstanding time! I highly recommend any club to get on her list to come and give a seminar! And if there isn't interest enough in your club, advertise on these lists! I would definitely do it again sometime in the near future! And if you can't get into one, audit it! Auditors learn tons too and get to particpate a lot!
Just wanted to share how much we enjoyed Carolyn and her seminar! I'll be talking to you, Carolyn! And I'll be seeing you again soon!

Some things and some people cross your path that truly increase the quality of your life. That happened to a group of us last weekend when Carolyn Scott visited Huntsville. We had a rather unique experience in that the freestyle seminar was attended by a group of friends who practice freestyle on a weekly bases. Now, add Carolyn Scott to that mix, stir it up w some music, choreography, techniques, moves by both canine and human partners, totally positive training, clever ideas, Carolyn's physical and mental endurance and - voila, the weekend is over and everyone feels empowered. This is the second seminar I've attended and I'm definitely looking forward to the 3rd seminar with Carolyn.
Take the initiative in your area and put out feelers about who can make the journey to a seminar. We had to turn people away that wanted to attend because of our limited space. We had around 25 attending, including some auditors. By the way, if you audit, don't get attached to your pencil and pad. You'll be up and moving. To bring Carolyn to Huntsville was the best thing we could have done for our group.
We had an aussie, saluki, goldens, bassett hound (yes, a bassett hound that is going to be so cute in fs), shelties, whippet (wonderful to see sighthounds doing fs), mixed, schnoodle, norwich terrier (who is too cute for words), papillon, flat coat mix, jack russell, King Charles Cavalier (named Twinkle), collies, Siberian husky, and others, as well as Carolyn's little stuffed b/w "Petey", who was a star many times over.
We had a weekly freestyle class the day after the seminar. After Carolyn's influence and teaching, it's as if I had stepped into another class. We have been working hard and the class has progressed wonderfully since we started months ago, but Carolyn gave us freedom of expression. She added a spark to our already enthusiastic group. I consider Carolyn's trip to our city a gift.

First, a huge thank you to Carolyn Scott for a great seminar in Delaware last weekend! Everyone had a fabulous time and made many new friends. Susan was one many of my new friends and I have to second her account of her "spot on" performance with her sensational Saluki, "Puzzle"! I do have one correction, however. She said, "Next thing I know, Carolyn was running over to give me a hug, with tears in her eyes." She may have missed it when Carolyn jumped three feet high up out of her seat , but she'd have to be deaf not to hear Carolyn's screaming - and mine, too! And I was the next hug after Carolyn's. This was the performance of the weekend. Carolyn told us that this sort of thing is the reason she loves to do seminars. I can't wait to see the tape! I will eventually try to get some video up on my web site since we used a digital camera. However, it is brand new and we'll have to figure out how to do that first.
Personally, I had such a wonderful time getting to know the famous Carolyn Scott. She was upbeat, flexible and patient the entire weekend, making it easy for me to manage the seminar. I know I have a new lifelong friend in Carolyn and plan a visit to Houston soon. Thanks again, Carolyn.
Corgially yours,

I'm very new to the sport of Canine Freestyle. Recently I attended a seminar in Southern California with Carolyn Scott and Rookie. They are awesome, and we all had a great time!
Carolyn has gotten me really excited about Freestyle. She is so motivating, and I learned so much from her. She helped me pick out music that fit with my dog, Kesha. I know we've got a lot of work to do to get started.
Thanks a lot,
Margaret and Kesha
Just want to thank Carolyn Scott publicly for a GREAT seminar in Harbor CIty, CA this past Feb. 7th! I'm really brand new to this sport and didn't know what to expect. Carolyn had everybody up and moving, no matter what their level of experience was. What fun! Maggy, my 9 yo Springer had a great time--she got to do what she loves to do--bounce!
Carolyn, thanks again! You are a charming and gifted teacher and it was a pleasure to participate in your seminar!
Ellen and the Mags
As a newbie, I felt welcome, not only by Carolyn, Lisa and Pam, but by everyone attending the seminar. We had a fantastic time! I enjoyed watching ALL of the people and dogs participating, placing so many new ideas in my head I can only remember part of them. So, the only obvious answer is to ask Pam and Lisa to please sign me (and a friend who missed out) up for the next Carolyn Scott seminar.
Mary Anne and YoYo
Stupendous. Thank you Carolyn. It was so gracious of you to come to COLD Ohio for us at a time when you could have easily justified staying home. You are so willing to share your knowledge and work with freestylers of all levels with ease. You are special and we love you. Give our regards to Rookie and Randy.
Jo and Boomer
I would like to send out a HUGE thank you to Carolyn for a fantastic job teaching the seminar and private lessons this past weekend. The only thing I think I would do differently is to have her stay even longer next time. Carolyn kept us REALLY busy from 9am until almost 8pm and still had energy to spare (it must be all that Coke and coffee)
I think I speak for all of us in saying that that was the most fun had at a seminar in a really long time! Some of us were trying to figure out how we could sneek into her luggage and go home with her. Can't wait to see you again Carolyn! Hope to see everyone else out at the Royal competition!

Carolyn's Scott seminar was so great!
In spite of the not so warm weather (I told you, Carolyn, it's just the beginning of the fall season here. Can you imagine now what it's like in the middle of winter, when there's 4-5 feet snow everywhere? We had so much
fun!
Carolyn has her own way of teaching and can pass on her passion to everyone! And you know what, Carolyn? We started a brand new discussion group about freestyle, but in french! Maybe that's the beginning of a futur freestyle association in Quebec?
Carolyn, thank you very much. And we already think about inviting you again next year (not in the winter tho) but this time, we'll manage to show you what Quebec is like. We were so busy that we couldn't find a single moment to do it. And I'm very sorry about it...
I hope you could recover... you really needed it!

Frist a Big Thanks to Elsie Wesdyk of Pawzitive Attitudes for her hard work putting on a great seminar. You did a great job. Second, to Carolyn Scott. What can I say. You have your calling in life and you pass in on. You go girl. And last, I want to thank the Canada people for making this American feel at home. Maybe if we teach ALL the governments freestyle, they could get along? And last, I think we should talk Elsie into having another one NEXT YEAR. All in flavor, say I.

Wow! I can't think of anything else to say about the most amazing, energetic, fun-filled seminar I have ever attended. Carolyn puts on the BEST seminar, full of info, examples, and working time for everyone. Her humour, and energy make people smile all day long. I know that from knowing almost nothing about Freestyle, and worried that it's not within my ability, to believing that there is a possibility for this non-dancing, clutzy person to actually succeed with a routine!!! I love it!
So, I bought all the videos, the book, and will go on and work with my Terv, my BC, and my Pyrenean Shepherds, on a few simple routines for some demos. I have ideas for all of them, and after watching a lot of the dogs find their music, I think that my friend Margo and I can find our "rhythm"! Yahoo! What a great sport.
A Carolyn Scott seminar is not to be missed. And for those people on this list who were there, it was GREAT meeting you all, and your wonderful dogs, and I'm so happy to have made some new friends. I look
forward to seeing you again!
Elsie
I saw Carolyn Scott and Rookie perform in Houston, Texas and cried I was so moved by their routine. It became my dream to some day meet this wonderful team. Many years went by and last February, 2004, I had that opportunity when she came to present a Canine Freestyle seminar at the facility where I help teach dog obedience. When I found out, I almost came unglued. I told the owner right then and there….I’ll learn it if you will let me teach it. He said okay….and that was the beginning of a whole new world for me. Over the two day seminar with Carolyn, we learned so many wonderful things. How to use the dogs natural movements, how to match those movements to music, what to look for when choosing music and most of all, keeping that wonderful bond with our dogs and keeping it fun. Usually by the end of a two day seminar I am tired and more than ready to go home. At the end of every seminar that I attended with Carolyn, the biggest complaint I heard and agreed with was "No, it can’t be over yet!"
I have to add here that I believe Carolyn and Rookie saved my life. Literally. Being obese at over 100 pounds overweight, Carolyn and Rookie gave me the spark I needed to want to do the best I can with my own beloved dog. Thanks to them, I’m now on the road to a much healthier lifestyle and loving it and dancing all the way! I had so much fun at the first seminar with Carolyn, that I attended two more, both of which I was suffering from a bad knee injury and was on crutches for the third seminar and could only audit. But her bubbly enthusiasm for the sport of Canine Freestyle keeps you enthralled throughout the day.
Carolyn has a nick name ‘Gal Pal’ and that she is. She makes everyone she meets feel like they are her personal best friend. She is a very special lady who makes everyone around her feel special. If you have the opportunity to ever attend one of her seminars, I can promise it will be a life changing experience. I find myself listening to many different kinds of music and listening more often. I’ve been honked at more than once at a traffic light that has turned from red to green because I’m sitting there creating a routine in my head to some song I’m hearing on the radio. Carolyn and Rookie will always hold a special place in my heart and I can’t wait for the opportunity to attend yet another one of her seminars!
Deb Abigt, Austin, Texas
A couple of us from Wisconsin got together and brought Carolyn out to give a freestyle seminar. From the minute I met Carolyn at the airport, it felt like we were old friends. It set the tone for the entire weekend. We had a wonderful time; our dogs had even more fun. As a long time obedience exhibitor, I personally appreciate the fact that Carolyn is first and foremost a dog trainer and her workshop centered on teaching the dog and finding music to match the dog's rhythm and personality, so that the dog remains the focus of the routine. Carolyn emphasized the teamwork that goes into freestyle and that creates the beautiful bond; she gave us the foundation on which we could build our own routines. I'd encourage anyone considering holding a seminar to do it - you'll have a great time and a true learning experience. We sure did!.

Your video clip actually brought TEARS to my eyes that your pal Rookie could dance with you so VERY well! It was an example of G-d's creation sharing love and companionship. I saw you on GMA and, again, was brought to "moist" eyes at the incredible demonstration of love and dedication to each other. It all makes me love our animals even more!
Gary
What a wonderful feeling I get every time I watch both of you dancing together, loving each other. Rookie looks so happy. Watching the two of you just brings joyful tears to my eyes.
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful display of the human-animal bond thru the clip of you and Rookie. Every time I watch it, I get tears in my eyes because I completely understand the bond that does exist between humans and their beloved animals.
In 1992, I was critically injured in a motorcycle accident. At that time, I was exposed to rehab, therapy, pet therapy, etc. Prior to the accident, I too used to love to dance. Due to the leg injury I sustained, I
can't really dance any more. Perhaps this is why I find your routine SO moving!
When I watched Rookie dance - I mean, actually DANCE this morning on GMA, I could NOT believe my eyes! I downloaded and played the video of you two dancing several times now, and I STILL CANNOT BELIEVE MY EYES!! May G-d always dance right along with you forever more.
Gary
I saw you and Rookie on GMA. I found myself crying, but they were tears of pure joy! I grew up with a golden retriever and have very fond memories. The two of you warmed my heart. It's definitely pure gold.
Your routine is just PRECIOUS!! The tears just roll down my cheeks every time I watch it.
Some time ago I was sent (by email) a video clip of a dog dancing event. I believe the one I saw was you and Rookie. I can find a shorter clip of the two of you online, but this one was much longer, was filmed from a distance and seemed to be in some kind of arena. The reason I am looking for this video clip is that I would like my father to see it. He loves dogs, but has never been in a position to have one of his own. I have had two Golden Retrievers which he loves. He has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer, and is depressed about this (of course), I think if I could send him that longer clip he would enjoy it enormously.
Thank you,
Bev Bairstow
A friend sent me a link to a video clip of you and Rookie and I just wanted to tell you how profoundly it has affected me. I have never see such a joyful performance and it has inspired me to become much more creative and to try to have just plain fun with my dogs. I watch the video every day and I still come away with tears of joy and admiration.
Thank you. Keep up the good work,A fan in CA.

I was fortunate to have been e-mailed a clip of you and your dancing dog, and it was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I have a great love for dogs of all breeds, and they are capable of many wonderful things, but you have shown the great grace and beauty of these dogs. I wonder if it would be possible to see a little more of you and your dancing dogs. Maybe another video clip. I have e-mailed your video to most of my friends, and they were in as much awe as I was. We have all put it in our "keep box" and I know for me, if I am having a bad day, or want just a little cheering up, I watch it. It picks up my whole day.
Thank you so much.

Hi from wherever in the world you are! Just got a note from someone who sent out a message to whomever knew who you and Rookie were. Several of the saluki folks saw the Grease clip and were transformed. I was so proud to tell them not only did I know who you were but had attended your seminar and, most importantly, you were my friend!
Cheers to a Very Special Friend,
Carol

I would like to add my congratulations to the many you must have already received - it was the most amazing display of love and unity I have ever witnessed.
My family and I live in British Columbia. We would love to be able to watch your performance in person should you ever come to this part of the worl. Thank you again for the warm glow your clip has left in all of us.

I have never done anything like this before in my life, but I just had to email you and tell you what an impact you and Rookie have had in my life! ANY time that I get really down or discouraged I walk right in here to the computer and pull up the "Rookie" file. It never, ever fails to make me smile! What a sooper dawg Rookie must be. You can tell he absolutely cannot please you enough. The unconditional love that is so very apparent picks me up every time!!!Thank you for sharing.

I have to tell you that Carolyn and Rookie were the freestyle dance team that DID give me goose bumps watching on that very same video, and guess what watching it again just seconds ago..had the same effect! Those TWO are
AWESOME!
Lynda
I was recently sent a link to your website and video clip. What a wonderful thing it was to watch. I've actually watched it several times. Beyond the fact that it was incredible to see Rookie in action, it was touching to see
the adoring look in his eyes. I know part of that is looking for cues, but I believe 99% was pure adoration. I would be very interested in purchasing your video.
Last year, 2 days before Christmas we were given the news that one of our dog babies had incurable pancreatic and liver cancer. It was sudden and there weren't any warning signs. It was one of the worst days of our lives. He had to be put to sleep 6 weeks later. He was just short of his 9th birthday. We have 3 other dogs, and love them all tremendously, but Sonny was special he had those same adoring eyes and loved to cuddle. He was a great dog. Your video brought back some great memories of the way Sonny looked at me.
Thank you, for sharing the video clip. I look forward to your video when it is finished.
Bonnie
The video is super - wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.
Thanks
Angie
I have only recently "discovered" you and Rookie's Grease routine and what can I say except it brings a lump to my throat every time I watch it. I had Goldens for over 20 years and having done years of obedience I can well appreciate all the hard work you have done to perfect such a beautiful partnership. Congratulations to you both.
Regards,

I saw this video clip for the first time on Friday from a friend and had to find out who you were. Low and behold through the wonderful world of the internet, I found out a little bit about you and Rookie. I am an avid animal lover and never knew this sport existed. I would love to learn more. I have told everyone I know how remarkable this video clip is. What a champ you have in Rookie. Each time I see the clip, it brings tears to my eyes. It is the most remarkable thing I have EVER seen!
Thanks so much and have a wonderful day.
JoAnn
Hi, my name is Allana and I received the clip of you and your dog performing "You're The One That I Want
" from a friend via email. I loved it! I have two dogs of my own and couldn't imagine the time and effort you put into teaching him/her that routine. I have since showed it to my mother-in-law, husband, sister-in-law and many more and they all agree that its fabulous. I have saved the clip on my computer and we watch it frequently and it always makes us smile.
I recently had the joy of seeing a video of you and your wonderful doggie dancing to "Grease". It came at a particularly challenging time for me medically, and it was the only thing that made me smile that day.
Thank you so much.

I was down in the dumps the other day. I have just lost my mom and this would be my first Christmas without her. I have, however, a wonderful 11 year old rescued pit bull named Daisey who brings sunshine in my life everyday. But your video from Grease made me smile and laugh until I cried. Keep me up to date on up coming events or videos.
God Bless you and Rookie!
I just had to drop you and note and tell you how much I have enjoyed your video of Rookie and you dancing to you're the one that I love! both of you are clearly having a riot! thanks for the entertainment!

Happy Birthday Rookie! Wishing you health and happiness for many years.

Dear Rookie,
You have never met me, or any of my dogs, but I wanted to wish you a happy twelfth birthday and to thank you for making such an impact in our lives. A friend of mine showed me the video of you dancing to Grease and I knew when I saw the joy in you that ran from your eyes to your tail that I wanted to dance with my dogs.
I have many rescue dogs (I usually number a dozen or more here) and every one of them that is physically capable has learned to do at least a couple of freestyle moves. Many people in our area meet with us each week to practice freestyle. They also have learned the happiness of dancing- and you can see it in their joyful
dog's faces.
We have all had our lives changed because of a one minute video that swept around the world and showed people a glimpse of what they could accomplish with their dogs. I have never heard anyone say that they are amazed at what all you can do....that seems to go without saying......but what I hear each and every one of them speak of is the joy and enthusiasm that you show while doing the dance that you love. It pours out of the tapes and the videos of each performance that you do.
My dear Rookie, you are truly an icon on the world of freestyle and I would say that there will never be another dog that has such an impact as you have had; on so many people in each and every corner of the world. You have changed my corner of the world and I thank you and love you for it. Thank you and we wish you a wonderful birthday and many more years of dancing joy to come.
Laura Ormsby
Happy Birthday Rookie. You and your mum certainly changed my life and now I can hardly wait to meet her when she comes to Australia. Wags from Max too.

Well, this is pretty exciting... My Son Michael also has his 37th birthday today... I will always be able to remember Rookie's birthdate now....Hopefully he will have many, many more and from the looks of him on Pet Star, I am sure he will be around for all of us to oooh and aaaah over for a long time to come... Long live the King!
Happy Birthday Rookie!

As my mother in law would say as only she can really say, "Have a happy and healthy birthday and may you spend it well." All dogs are one in a life time, but a few are life changers, Rookie is definitely one of those for Carolyn. He can put one more kudo to his life, he is a life changer for many other people as well. Many more to you.
With love,
Charlotte and Dukie.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROOKIE! You are truly amazing.
Terrie Palmer, Delano, MN
Hi Rookie!
I know your mom is not home with you right now but I am sure your dad and friends are planning something very special for you today. I am , well, my mom, Loren is, going to send you a special card from the jacquielawson site so make sure someone shares it with you. You were my first canine freestyle dog buddy when we met last Feb. in LA and it was good to be with you in Dallas in October too. I really didn't like having to share you with Zena much, but I know you are a popular guy! You are my inspiration and I hope I can grow up to be just like you!
Anyway, I just wanted to acknowledge your latest accomplishment; well besides your recent two television apprearances on Good Morning America and Pet Stars!!! My tail is a waggin' for you!
Licks from Aloha, a fellow Golden!
